Inspired by the need for young children to get messy and creative, the ARTery Studio was founded as an exploratory & cooperative art space that encourages children to focus on process instead of outcome.
Art is important for childhood development, which is why the bulk of our programming is focused on children. Every instructor at our studio has an art background with the experience and know-how to bring out the artist in every child.
Our mantra is to let creativity flow through our bodies, and we do that by playing, exploring, creating and GROWING. Our space is super cool for kids, but it is pretty awesome for adults, too. Come create something you never thought you could!
Founded by Dr. Karen Walker in 2017, the name of the space is inspired by the arteries of the human body which carry blood. Creativity flows through people and is essential, like blood. We hope that the ARTery will continue to be an inspiring place for people of all ages to come together and create!
The ARTery was purchased in June 2020 by Medford residents, Marisa and Brian Corry. Together, the Corry's bring a passion for all things creative. It is their goal to provide a unique and magical space in our community for children to express their inner creativity.
We are forever grateful to Dr. Karen Walker and Miss Shiya Stone for founding and growing the ARTery business from 2017-2020. Miss Shiya is an inspiration to her students as well as a mentor to the art teachers at The ARTery. Karen and Shiya's legacy continues to shine as The ARTery serves the community, inspiring artists of all ages for years to come! 🧡
